I am originally from a small farm outside of Niagara Falls, NY. Our family moved to Tucson in 1980. We lived in Tucson for 27 years until we moved to Albuquerque, NM in 2007. I attended twelve years of Catholic School, including Saint Joseph's School in Albion, NY and Notre Dame High School in Batavia, NY. Class of 1975. I am a dedicated husband and family man. Eva and I married in 1977, and our marriage is the crown jewel of my life. I met Eva while attending aircraft mechanic school in Utica, NY. Mutual friends introduced us and we've been honeymooning ever since. We've been blessed with two wonderful children, Phoebe and Michael. Phoebe married Andrew Gonzalez in 1999 and have blessed us with two grandchildren, Tristan and Cyradis Gonzalez. They live in Tucson, Arizona. Michael married Victoria in 2006 and they’ve had their first child, Katrina. They live and work in Shanghai, China. I am a veteran, I served as a communications center man in the USMC from December 1977. Later I served in the U.S. Army Reserve as a medical supply sergeant. I worked in Aviation for over twenty years. The majority of this time was in service to Sierra Pacific Airlines. Positions there included Avionics Manager, Director of Maintenance, Designated Engineering Representative and Director of Maintenance Training. I've worked on many types of aircraft, including Boeing, Convair, DeHavalin, Cessna and Piper models. Toward the end of my career in aviation, I specialized in Avionics, Electrical Engineering and Weight & Balance Systems. Averaging six months away from home each year, the burden of travel weighed heavily on my family. I became a professional insurance agent in the Knights of Columbus April 1, 1996. There I served Tucson and Southern Arizona for over eleven years. The Order promoted me to General Agent June 1, 2007. As General Agent, I now serve Knights of Columbus Families within the State of New Mexico. Jim McCabe |
